With the Oregon State Legislature back in session, Chemeketa and its programs have been active in communicating with legislators. Here are a couple of examples.
Feb. 25 was Career and Technical Education Day at the Capitol. Among those showing off career and technical educational opportunities were Chemeketa EMT students.
Also, on Feb. 24 a new legislator who has part of Chemeketa’s district in his district paid a visit to campus. State Rep. Mike Nearman took a tour of the new career and technical education buildings on the Salem campus with President Julie Huckestein and Executive Dean of Career and Technical Education Johnny Mack. The three snapped this picture in front of one of Machining Technologies’ CNC machines. Machining Technologies will be one of the programs moving into the new Applied Technologies building in fall.
Rep. Nearman represents House District 23, which includes parts of Yamhill, Polk, Marion and Benton counties, including the cities of Dallas and Willamina.
