Understanding & Addressing Poverty

The first half of the workshop provides an initial exploration of the poverty experience in the region. Explores local demographics, trends and assumptions about individuals living in poverty. Provides opportunities for reflection and action related to supporting students living in poverty.
During the second half, you’ll work with your colleagues to identify and build strategies to outline improvements to workplace policies, services and interactions with people experiencing poverty. Learn about community resources to address poverty. Provides an opportunity to conduct a gap analysis, poverty action plan and development of next steps for organizations supporting individuals living in poverty.
