Small business managers graduate to success

Principals and key employees from eighteen small business celebrated completion of the nine-month Small Business Management program at the Chemeketa Center for Business and Industry. Combined with the follow-up program, Small Business Management Strategic, Chemeketa advises 61 businesses which makes it the largest community college small business management program in Oregon.

In the past year, the companies in Chemeketa’s small business management programs generated over $50 million in revenue, an increase of $1.6 million over the prior year. They added 22 jobs for total employment of 519 people. Participants range from small startups to established businesses with over 60 employees.

Wendy Childs of Earth Moon Acupuncture said, “This program has been the key for helping me move beyond my limits. This should be a template for small business support all over the country.”
