Steve Brown, the Bald Futurist, presents his vision for how advances in technology will disrupt work and education –

Tuesday, April 17, 2:30-4 pm
Chemeketa Salem
Building 6 Auditorium

The event is free but seating is limited so reserve your place at go.chemeketa.edu/baldfuturist.

Brown describes the current state of technology as “the mobile era.” He urges us to prepare for the post-mobile era which he claims is just around the corner.

“We should all expect more disruption from technology in the next decade than we have experienced in the last 50 years,” Brown states on his website.

Brown urges us to embrace the next three major revolutions in computing –

  • Artificial intelligence (Robots who learn and communicate)
  • Augmented reality (Pokémon Go, Snapchat or Instagram Stories)
  • Blockchain (Bitcoin)

Brown promises to weave together technical, scientific and educational trends to reveal a vivid picture of what will be possible in the future.

“We are hosting The Bald Futurist because of our commitment to preparing a future-ready workforce,” said Chemeketa president Julie Huckestein.
