On Thursday, May 2, Chemeketa employees, community members and local business owners celebrated the success of this year’s Small Business Management (SBM) program participants.
The event also recognized the program’s record-breaking year and the work of retiring program director Lori Cegon.
During this year’s program, 75 business owners and key employees from 53 businesses in 13 cities enrolled. During the 2018-19 program, SBM businesses reported $7,118,245 in increased sales.
“I wouldn’t have the business I have without this program,” said Fabian Lopez of Earth Tech Landscape Solutions. “I don’t know how many times I’ve called Lori after a sleepless night. There’s resources for your business—not generic—at your fingertips.”
“I’ve really taken to heart to advice to ‘work on your business not in your business’,” said Sandy Green of Simply Blissed. “I can happily report I’m mostly out of day to day operations and can work on my strengths. This program has been my anchor.”
SBM participants continued to share how the program has impacted them personally and their businesses, with many declaring they were going to re-enroll in the program or continue onto the Strategic Management classes.
