More than fifty students attended the annual Accounting and Business Career event with hopes of receiving interview and job-seeking tips, discovering local job opportunities and learning how to use Chemeketa’s Career Services to help land a position.
Thirteen speakers and panel members presented on what students might expect working in accounting, business or procurement in state, non-profit and industry businesses.
Western Oregon University, Robert Half Temp agency, State of Oregon and Chemeketa’s Cooperative Work Experience, Career Services and Advising also tabled at the event.
“In previous years we’ve held this for Accounting students,” said instructor Lana Tuss. “This year we’ve opened it to Business Management and Business Technology students as well. We want to help all student prepare for success when seeking a position or opening their own business.”
